A space for easy presence
There's no pressure here, just a relaxed, conversational atmosphere where you're free to be yourself. Between the Lines is centered on scripture, treating it as a lamp to our feet and a light to our path. There is a faith spectrum in this world where some people have zero interest in God, while others are dedicated church goers, but most people find themselves somewhere in-between. This is the sacred space where Between the Lines exists and where Jesus often meets people along the way. While we are not a church or even an alternative church, we offer a warm, comforting, and inviting space—a disarming place where you can explore scripture, ask questions, wrestle with doubt, and grow in faith through guided discussion and open conversation. Passive participation is valuable and welcome. Feel free to sit in silence and absorb the evening's themes if that's more your pace.
What to expect at a gathering
Imagine walking into a house where you no longer have to knock. That's the feeling we aim for. You'll find fresh bread, warm coffee, cocoa, and tea available. A large table is set, ready for us to gather around and discover scripture together. Blankets and Bibles are always on hand. We sit around the table with our refreshments, talking about what the Bible shows us about who Jesus is and how he meets us right where we are. We anchor ourselves in the truth of scripture as it relates to our current journey and where we're headed. No pressure to know your way around a Bible or have all the answers, we'll figure it out in real time, together. Occasionally, we untangle misunderstandings about life through the lens of God's word. Afterwards, we say goodbye. Some may return, some may come once and never again. That's the beauty of Between the Lines—it's a refuge along the way, a bridge for people to cross and come closer to Christ.
Comfort and invitation for everyone
Our door is open to anybody who feels called or curious enough to walk through it. Everyone gathers around the table because everyone has a place here. The entire atmosphere of Between the Lines is about comfort and invitation. Everything you need to feel comfortable is provided: warm refreshments and fresh baked bread, blankets, Bibles, and most importantly, a no-obligation welcome from the people who gather here.
